| 25 Apr 2001 | Viv. ´Sai´ Chien | Loading...That middle 'olive' would be a pearl, I am assumin'. I love Eastern dragons... gah you know my weakness. This one is certainly well drawn, with all the carp scales it's a wonder how much it must've tested your patience. I wonder.. no antlers eh? Maybe the dragon is female? Mm.. I noticed too, that the right foreclaw (my/viewer's right) and left hindclaw only have 4 digits, while the other two have 5. Was this on purpose? Curiosity getting the better of my sleep deprived mind. Anyhow.. wow. I'm glad you drew this. I have yet to see more eastern dragons on Elfwood, but I've very glad you have one. | |

| 14 Jun 2001 | Yelitza María Vélez | Loading...Oh wow, I love dragons. Eastern Dragons are so much more artistic then Wesstern Dragons, but I gotta admit I love both types very much. The colors are fine for this type of dragon, although a background wouldn't hurt the picture, and since your backgrounds are so lovely already ::hint hint:: | |
| 24 Aug 2001 | Kate Shenk | Loading...Why do you have a problem with the colors? They go well for the style and for the picture. If you had chosen ultramarine and vermillion, do you think you could have pulled off the 'Chinese dragon' touch as well? Perhaps that could be something you could try to challenge yourself. | |

| 8 Sep 2003 | Bladeswift | Loading...Well other than the fact that his arms seem to be misplaced (or is it just me?) I like it. Chinese dragons are so cool | |
| 22 Jul 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...It's a cool looking dragon... even though I have a coloring book with basically the exact same dragon with a different head. However, the head on your dragon is also in that same book but on a different dragon. | |
| 18 Oct 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...This is really good!!! I am pretty good at drawing dragons. The head is a little off, just a little more practice and you'll have it | |
| 9 Aug 2007 | Michael Gmirkin | Loading...To respond to a prior poster, the "arms" (legs? whatever...) aren't misplaced as far as I can tell. Many oriental dragons have limbs at somewhat random locations or in random directions. There's a reason for that, which I won't go into here. And the "pearl" is a very common motif in oriental dragon designs and myths. Again for a reason, which I'll also not go into here. Long and short, it looks wonderful. As to whether the head is "right" or not, I don't think there's any one "right" or "wrong" way to draw a dragon head. The old "invention" vs. "convention" argument in folklore and art applies equally well here. I see no problem with it. And to the author, while the colors seem muted, I see no problem with the color choices. They go together "as drawn." It almost makes me think "sepia tone interpretation." Which is kind of cool. ) | |
