Thanks, Rikke. Glad you like him. =)
| 20 Apr 2001 | Brian Keith Cooke | Loading...I still think he looks a little like Moon Knight or something, but that's ok. Not a pose you see very often, but I think it's effective. His arms and legs look a tiny bit spindly compared to his giant ribcage, but that maybe an effect that you were going for. Looks pretty good otherwise That is actually kind of what I was going for... see, there's a LOT of armor and padding under there, so since I described him as looking "overly protected" while in his costume, I figured I should try to represent that in the picture. Neat, huh? | |

And I like the idea of creating a character who is supposed to be a sidekick, without first having the main man. The one thing I have a problem with (not that you should change it, but just for future reference), his legs are in a weird, weak position. The way they're turned in, he looks kinda like a three-year-old. Other than that, though, very groovy pic! *peace*
Hrm... :examines legs of pic: I'll have to look in to that...
| 4 Nov 2001 | Sierra James | Loading...He does look kinda knocked knee'd. But he's a cool character. I think he's cute, myself! Not that'd I'd pinch his cheeks or anything like that. James Milligan replies: "Now there's an interesting image... =)" | |
| 17 Nov 2001 | Alicia N. Steeves | Loading...Eee. I LOVE sidekicks. Neat cloak. He _is_ cute. :attempts to pinch his cheeks, gets whacked with stick: Oof. He's still cute. James Milligan replies: "Nah, Black Mantle wouldn't whack ya with the stick, he's kinda scared of pretty girls. =)" | |
| 15 Mar 2002 | Emily 'Deemaeda' Oberdorfer | Loading...Reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallly? *evil grin, rubs hands together maliciously* *notices the staring, snaps back to innocent* 9.9 Yeah. He's cute. *giggles like a school girl* James Milligan replies: "Why, Miss Oberdorfer, Ah DO Declah! Why should such a lady as yourself be makin' such INAPPROPRIATE comments about such a young man as young master Black Mantle, here? mirk: Heheeee... =)Glad you like him, Em. :wonders what he has to do to get looked at like that, himself...:" | |
| 23 Jan 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...He needs a sword James Milligan replies: "No, he does not. I made him, I say he uses a baton staff, and thus, he does. Drive on." | |
| 19 Jan 2005 | David | Loading...Not sure if you know this, but a lot of martial/defense stances that are designed for stability have one foot perpendicular to the other. This allows you to both move and sway in either direction without being put completely off-balance; you may find that sort of pose alleviates the "knock-knee'd" issue some people have commented on.
Other than that, nice sketch. I like him,
