Another interpretation, this time of Felix Lavalle's Sluagh character, Kim. Felix never really detailed her much, but I found there to be something rather intriguing about the lady, so I asked him if I could draw her as I saw her. I went a bit 'Morticia Addams Meets Victorias Secret' with this one, and a couple of friends pointed out that I have a serious lace fixation, but I rather like where it went. I feel like it's missing something, but I really don't quite know what... Bothers me a bit, I must say. Felix, as Brian Cooke before him (on the Kayl interp I did), liked the interpretation, thus making me one happy guy. (Kim is a Sluagh from Changeling: The Dreaming, by White Wolf Games, Inc.)

i like her pose, and the clothes are very well drawn. nice job!

Thank you! I've been thinking about doing another of her, but I need to check with Felix, first.

Lace fetish? You? Get outta town! **grins** Seriously, the lace makes the pic... it's got that Morticia Addams kida feel to it (like the Sluagh do, in a way)

"Don't torture yourself, Gomez... that's my job."

Heh. No comment. Seriously. 2

what's missing.... hmmm. Give her a floor to stand on, and put her in an arched doorway, with the dorway openning just to the left of her. yep, that all I can think of that's missing - unless you think you could give her a shadow that wouldn't detract from the dress.

Hrm... good ideas! Thanks!

Oh what a tangled web! My favourite part of this piece is the layering of textures with the dress and the stockings, as well as the way the dress flares out. Nicely done!

:-) James Milligan replies: "Thanks, Liana! It was a bit hard to keep the layers going right, but it's good to see I got it!"

Something about the way the dress falls around her form really gets me going over this picture. The form itself is probably a little off if you were going for perfect anatomy. BUT.. the stylized way you drew it makes up for the mistake. If it was on purpose, then forget what I just said. The pose is fab, bay-bay!

:-) James Milligan replies: "I wasn't going for perfect anatomy. When Felix did the first version of this character, he gave her this wonderfully elongated frame, and I tried to stick with that. It really inspired me. 2"

What's missing... hm... could it be... a BACKGROUND? ... Perhaps. And yes, I get to bug you about backgrounds, as I do them. Yes. Even though I need to provide some proof, don't I? ...

:-) James Milligan replies: "Yes, yes you do need to provide some proof. 2"

Ever read Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Trilogy? This dress would fit the description of the main character's. Anyway, awesome pic, I love the attitude and the spider. I think maybe it needs something on the left side to balance it out, but I don't know what...hmmm. And I LOVE the random picture button! >'_~<

:-) James Milligan replies: "I'm also rather fond of the random picture button. It does a body good. 12"

Mmm.. that dress is every goth girl's dream. 12 (And so is that figure.) I could do without the spider, personally (they give me the willies) - but what I really love about this piece is her smile. It looks whimisical, not cynical - something I tire of when it comes to beautiful, gothic women. It's a very nice change, and really makes this picture stand out. Splendid work. 12

:-) James Milligan replies: "Thank you very very much Natalie. I, also, get the heebies from spiders (Ah, arachnophobia, thy name is evil), and I, too, like her expression. The funny thing is, most of the Goths that I know (says the former Mod) are not overly disenchanted, disaffected, mopey people. Even if they DO listen to ungodly amounts of The Cure and Dollhouse... Ah, well. 2"

Hmm...Ive dreamt of this dress before, I intend to meke one very similar to it for myself. Its very very nice.

:-) James Milligan replies: "Do please share the dress with us when it is made! Glad you like the pic!"

I know what she's missing, a VICTIM meh-heh-heh-heh... er... ahem.

Or a cabbage on a cutting block. A table with a musty tome? And a skull?

Anyway, love the dress, love the spider, love the expression. Couldn't resist trying to be silly!
