Number two in the IWP project. Burn, silent, psychic, destructive. He takes his name from the only word he ever says, the only thing he ever does. He is Burn. It is what you will do. (Sorry, had to get a little corny, there... it fits so well.) Burn is an NPC from a Super Heroic roleplaying game (Specifically, Champions: The Super Roleplaying Game)

Kool! Me Like! Great job on the fire, I wish I could draw it that well....

Flames are hard to draw because, well, they're always in motion. Some of the best flames I've seen in "modern" comic art are in fact textures added to motion lines by way of layers (Photoshop, anyone?). I basically took the pencil and "danced" it over the area I wanted the flames to be in, and then stared at a burning log for a few minutes a few nights later. And I made sure that the flames always "licked" upward, so that it wouldn't look like he was spewing natural gas, but was rather really on fire. Thank you for the comment!

Man, that armor kicks. I like the whole reflective element to it.

That's about the only thing I still like about this picture, honestly... I really need to do better with this, somehow...

Oooh. Shiny. Lurve the armor. *stares* Fire pretty. One tiny little criticism...his foot looks small to me. Maybe its me. But you know what they say about flamey guys with big feet...they wear big fireproof shoes.

:-) James Milligan replies: "Hrmmm... I had thought about the foot before... Now I see it's not just me... Hrm..."

*cough* burnout *cough* gen13 *cough* hackoff replication

:-) James Milligan replies: "Um. No. Considering I had Burn running around in my Champions game in late 1988, and Gen13 is a product of a much later creative streak on the part of another artist, I would say that you are SORELY mistaken. Try asking questions before showing us your IQ, next time."

That looks rather...amazingly good. I agree that it got a bit corny, the left arm is a bit wonky, but the shading and flame effects look mint.

:-) James Milligan replies: "You really think so? *peers at the pic* Wow. Thank you!"
