SciFi and Fantasy Art IWP7: Mako by James Milligan

An NPC Boomer from a Bubblegum Crisis RPG by R. Talsorian Games. If you go visit Christian Conkle (Zone 47, Gallery 16), you're bound to see some references to 'Boomers', and 'BGC: RPG', and the like. Mako shares the honor of coming from the same core inspiration as Christian's pics, albeit through a different application and motivation. Mako is a retrofitted pleasure Boomer, who saw 'Blade Runner' and took much of her inspiration from it. The combat chipping placed in her systems, as well as the major overhauling done to allow her to attain a combat form unhinged her already borderline personality, and did all manner of bad things to her. The unfinished lines on the lower right were going to be (and will one day be) Mako 'ripping out' of her normal form.

24 Aug 2000	Jim (Big Bad Boomer Daddy)	Loading... In the game I ran I made everyone play non-Boomer characters if at all possible. The villain was brainwashing a creche of Boomers, modifying them, and making them think that they were his children, so they'd build him a Human/Boomer Hybrid body with which he could take over the whole of California, and then the world... it never did play out right... Ah, well. =) As to her hair, well, she was trying to blend in, you see... =)

James Milligan replies: "It's not all manga/anime-girls that are always three quarters naked... although I suppose you could get that impression easily if that's the only manga or anime you've seen... But, for this picture in particular, she's like that because it was a story element. She actually appeared in the getup in the pic during the game, and that's how I drew it. Glad you like the bubblegum sketch. "
