'As a species, the Tiefling race is touched by the Planes. More to the point, these sods are tainted, through blood of their line or deed of their ancestors, by the Lower Planes. As such, their kith and kin are things of darkness. Some of them have the ability to darken shadows around them, causing globes of blackness to form. Others find a deeper comfort in the shadows, such as this one here. She will never fear the darkness, so long as her shadow is with her.' Making this pic was a chore and a trial of my abilities. I don't usually do backgrounds, for several reasons. This one made me re-learn all of my perspective rules and applications over again. All in all, I'm really rather happy with the result. Thank goodness for the smudge tool in Photoshop!

I loathed making that gate, myself, honestly. Glad you like it, though!

oooh.... that monstery shadow thing is cool..... hmmm... looks like me when I have too much caffine.....

:-) James Milligan replies: "Heh. I'll know to avoid you, then, when you've had too much caffeine, Jennifer."

So, is her shadow an actual shadow (as per the undead monster in the Monstrous Manual) or was it an ordinary shadow that she animated?

Does it have the powers of a shadow (as per the undead monster in the Monstrous Manual)?

AND
I thought _I_ was your Official Critic First Class?
Yeesh... I take a little hiatus, and this is what I get?

:-) James Milligan replies: "It's not a Shadow as in the monster type. It's... something else, entirely. And hey, Stanton, you're still my Official Critic... but you've been promoted to Official Critic Kaiser. ;-)"

I like this picture, I think that your could do so much more with another tool than a pencil.

:-) James Milligan replies: "But... I /like/ using pencil!"

Hm. Did you ever play Planescape:Torment? That shadow reminds me of the ones that chase the main chracter around through the game. Same universe, even. (Tieflings rock!) (Another meaningless comment from meeee...)

:-) James Milligan replies: "Haven't played Torment yet. Been out of a job and not had the moolah to do the game buying thing, sadly. Although, I do RUN a Planescape game on monday nights. (Muahahaha) Tieflings DO rock, don't they? 2"

take that into photoshop - and highlight the entire area of the shadow/monster

then delete its contents, and fill it with a solid black.

go through - if you need, and add streaks, and lighten certain areas if you would like - but the penciled in, though probly good looking on paper is shotty on pc.

It wont need the transparency - but if it does:

highlight the monster area - copy - paste.
should be on a new layer
select the area of the monster - delete, and fill with black

take that layer, and change its opacity - by dragging the bar on the "layer tab" with that layer selected

One of these should help to get it to look cleaner for PC.

Just some advice,
FUJILIVES

:-) James Milligan replies: "Yep, know all those tricks already."

.. Mmm.. I love how long her ears are. ^-^ I can never draw ears that long on my characters and actually have them look right. *sigh* It's sad, considering the terrible pointy-ear fetish I have. (I do so love leaving random comments on your pictures. *grin*)

:-) James Milligan replies: "2 Go right ahead. I don't mind. 2"
