SciFi and Fantasy Art Dragon Snail 07 - A Sister´s Watchful Eye by Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf

"A Sister's Watchful Eye" is #7 in the Dragon Snail™ series. This young female keeps watch over her vulnerable baby brother, scanning the skies for predatory birds. He plays confidently in the presence of his big sister, instinctively knowing that she will protect him from harm.

The older sister is blue-green, marbled with shades of green, blue, and purple. Her eyes are a shade darker blue-green, and her horns are medium blue. She stands about 2 1/2" (6 1/2 cm) tall and is about the same length. Her baby brother is similar in color, but is slightly bluer and has darker blue eyes. His tiny horn buds have not yet sprouted. He stands about 1 1/4" (3 cm) tall, and 2 1/2" (6 1/2 cm) long.

Polymer clay, real seashells, and real baby pinecone.

The heads of these two (particuarlly the little brother) seem a bit more horse-like than your other dragon snails...it may be the way the little guy's holding that pine cone (?) in his mouth. Great work, and the descriptions you always provide make me smile ^_^ ~ Esther Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "Thanks! It's funny; when I was a kid all my dragon drawings looked very horsey. I was a horse-crazy girl; I had pictures of them all over my bedroom walls. So the horse archetype is quite ingrained into my head. XD I have to fight it sometimes."
