"Kimochi" is #13 in the Dragon Snail™ series. He caught me watching him as he hunted for garden snails in the chamomile. They can ooze but they can't hide... he finds them by scent.

"Kimochi" is Japanese for perception or feeling.

Polymer clay and real seashell.

Does the shell grow as the dragon gets older*if you are thinking in the way of a story* *don't think i'm weird ,please?*

:-) Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "It's a really good question! No, the shell doesn't grow. The Dragon Snails "wear" the shell as a sort of disguise so they can sneak up on their favorite prey (snails). As they grow, they shrug off the old shell and take on a larger one... sometimes taken as leftovers from a meal. 2 "

I love how you place them in natural enviroments to take pictures of them. It just makes them seem so much more real...Like you're breathing even more life into them than by simply making them realistic-looking.

:-) Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "Thank you! Now if only I could keep the plants alive in my backyard... 2"

You should sell these at one of the renaissance festivals.

:-) Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "I'm considering that, actually.... Thanks! 2"

He’s great . How long did this take ?

:-) Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "Thanks so much for all your comments, Sherri! I think this guy took a few days... probably in the neighborhood of 6 to 12 hours total. (Most of my Dragon Snails take 2 or 3 days, but not quite full 8-hour days, of work. More complex pieces usually take me weeks!)"

:-) Erin ´EireWolf´ Metcalf replies: "Thanks! 1"
