I wrote this about someone I believe in.
This is an unusual poem for me in that literally the entire thing from start to finish was inspired. The words are based on a scene that leaped into my head with no warning and made the rest of the world go away until I'd experienced it.

Celtic Visions

I came upon you in another day
another time.
You were standing on a hilltop
looking out over green fields
the wind at play in your
long wild hair,
the seeking of answers
shouting from your eyes.
I told you this
in your peasants garb
I told you this
in your simple finery
I told you this
who wore your soul on your shoulder
where all could see and admire it's beauty
I told you this
my brave one, and remember it well:

Don't worry
be silent
touch your fingers to your lips
feel the soft whisper
of the wisdom you share.
Close your eyes
just feel
the wind over your body
wrap the clouds about your
beautiful, wonderful form
touch the sky
with gentle fingers
bless the streams
with your presence
dive right in
you belong here.
Speak to the gods
converse with spirits
call your totems
give your gift
dance
feel
believe
they'll come
and so will I
'cross hills and past valleys
over mountains
through the wild seas
we'll hear your
sweet voice calling
allure and longing...
Come.
Make this whole.

This poem echoes an image I have in my head whenever I'm outside and the wind's blowing almost scarily accurately... This work is wonderful!

Cool! 2 This originally came to me as a picture but my talents as an artist are really under-developed. I couldn't think of a way to get the same message across with stick figures. 2 I'm still amazed at the reactions people have to this. I feel it says much more about the subject than my writing skills. There is a response to this which I've been given permission to post. It's written by the one I wrote this for and can be found here.
