Autumn is always special to me. This hit me walking back from classes on the way to my car when the wind picked up and stirred memories...
Ann Battelli made a painting inspired by this that has me wishing I could display them together. Please go take a look. I think they complement each other well.

Wind in the Plains

Come play with me
while the days grow short
and the nights grow long
Come play with me
chase me down in wild fields
while the wind whips up
and takes your hair
Come catch me dancing
twirling 'round beneath the sky
with horizons so
impossibly far
Come play...
come catch me
if you can
looking in your eyes
heart beating
throughout my entire world
while the wind in your hair
breathes for me.

I'm going to use this for my "Those who aren't world-famous... yet!" tour, if you don't mind...

*grins and scritches head* Sure! I like your tours. I learn stuff.

I have this weird déjà-vu feeling here. It's the line "Come play with me". I have actually used it in one of my mermaid poems (almost a year ago). A fascinating coincidence. Anyways, even if the poems were comparable, I like this much better. A beautiful description of the wind, which reminds me of my brother when he was 2 or 3. Autumn is the best time for writing poetry.

You took me to one of my favourite places and made a marvelous picture in my mind... I'm seriously considering making a picture of the image you stirred in me. If you're all right with that, of course. (since I know the uid thingie is not going to work with me, I'm Ann, the last denizen of Loth's 682nd gallery)

Hrm. The uid thingy didn't really work but I sorta hacked out an imitation. You have good stuff, I want people to be able to find you. =)

*sighs* This is a really beautiful poem. You really have a knack for evoking memories. Living all the way over in the southern hemisphere means it's autumn right now. It's nice to get a positive view on the chill
