It originally appeared in the Holy Qabalah a few thousand years ago but the concept has since become sorta universal (Yggdrasil and such). On the Tree, there are 10 spheres of light called the Sephiroth. It is divided into three parts called the Pillars (sorta like branches). They are called Severity, Mercy, and Beauty. There are many excellent books on the subject. As for this drawing, I think it is perfectly lovely and quite elegant. It does not conform to the historical view of the Tree of Life but I am glad that it is always open to interpretation. That is what Fantasy is about! Great work here.

What would look really great though, is if you added boarders around it, perhaps along with intercate backdrops. Middle eastern and British designs could be incorperated to give it a mythical, "old-worldish" sort of look! Then sell it to me so that I may hang it in my house!

This 'pot' you talk about is in fact the cauldron from which te celtic druïds said life had sprung from. It's also the ancestor of the 'holy grail'
