But I'll just pull on artistic license for it to be there. And the reason it's blue is to complement the fiery colors and lend the composition some balance.
| 11 Jul 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...Yes, it's a common misconception that phoenixes are aflame at all times when in fact they only consume themselves in flame at the ends of their lifetimes and are reborn from their ashes, thus becoming a symbol of death and rebirth in some culture or other, and of course it wouldn't coexist with its egg...
but this is a damned good pic and that's the point.
| 4 Aug 2003 | Sajaca | Loading...According to chinese myth, phoenixes look like roosters, in egyptian myth they look like cranes, and in north american myth they look like eagles (actually, those are thunder birds, which are pretty different, but everyone lumps them under phoenixes, so...) you've managed to make the perfect phoenix. A mixture - a bit of them all in it. I also like how the phoenix kinda makes a circle with the egg. Symbolic, non? Anyway, this is a gorgeous pic, and i love it. | |

| 8 Aug 2004 | Crazy | Loading...That is a d-a-m-n good picture! And to whoever said it sucked...you try drawing one and see how it turns out. Unless you are a brilliant artist who can paint life-like creatures with the greatest of ease, then don't burn other people's work!

| 2 Jan 2005 | James Hall | Loading...great work though the style is rather odd it seems that from myth its not true to scale. An EAGLE has a wing span of 6 feet and compared to the plants that cant be more than 1 ft. tall it dosnt work for myth truly says the grew very very fast and it made the winds of the desert for it grew 1 ft. a fraction of a heart beat.... | |
