This drawing is very flat. No dimensions at all... something I need to work on a lot.

If you are a LOTR fan, and if I had any skill at all, you could tell that the writing on her circlet is the inscription on The One Ring.

My gosh u can write so small!!!

:-) Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "Yeah, but its not really legible... The whole thing is actually the slightest bit bigger, but not by much. "

Her head is flat and the facial features are rather off in placement and proportion but it's a good attempt. Draw more of what you see, not what you know. Use a reference. Picture the head like an egg flipped so the base is at the top. Also, the eyes should be placed in the middle of the head. As for the neck, it should be parallel to the ears and connect the jaw bone.

I'm not trying to be critical when I say all this. I'm just trying to give you tips to make your pieces look more realistic and the anatomy more precise. It's a good try and I like the band and inscription on the forehead. I actually did recognize it as the inscription from The One Ring. Keep working at it.

:-) Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "No, thank you for the comments! They were very helpful, since I have a problem with making things realistic-like. I really appreciate what you had to say!"

o0oo. I like the reference to The One Ring. Clever! I think if you shade a bit more around the edges you could solve your flatness problem ^_^

:-) Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "I'll definitly try some shading next time, thanks for the suggestion!"

Wow, the writing must have taken a LONG time!!! I tried adding it to one of my drawings, but i got lazy and then just added a whole bunch of extra ruins... lol. I like this drawing, it seems like she`s interigating (sorry for all the bad spelling!!) you with that stare. Awesome! My only nit-pik is that i think the ears should be a little wider, but that`s just me. Good job!

:-) Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "I don't know, I don't remember the writing taking that long... I guess I'm just patient with that sort of thing. Thin ears eh? I guess that might make it a little hard for her to hear. ^_^"

well most has been said 'bout the details of the face & stuff so, hurray, no typework for me! 12 what I especially like about this one is her eyes & the expression.. shes like 'what are you looking at' .. and I love that!héhé! keep drawing, and work on those details, you've got potential!

:-) Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "I never noticed she had an expression... but yeah... that's what I meant to make her say ^_^"

Very intense! Aside from the things the other commentors have mentioned, I would also advise that you try for a little more contrast in your pencil drawings -- making your darks darker and your whites lighter. I like the concept though, and those ears. They remind me of wasps' stingers, lol.

1 Natalya 'Thanatos' Bree replies: "Pointy Ears, Pointy Ears! Great suggestion too!"
