My version of hippogrypht and it's cousin, griffon. I've been into this theme lately, for me and my friend (who don´t have gallery and that is a crime) are going to make painting together. That image would include dragon and griffons (yes, ordinary stuff) and because my friend has vision for dragon, I have designed griffons.

Very nice work! I like the detail here, and how the hippogriff has long neck-feathers like a horse's mane. Beautiful creatures!

Such exquisite creature design!
26 Jun 2008:-) Tim J Stoffel
Very nice detail. Gryphons are common here. A hippogriff is a pleasant diversion!

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Yep, plus plain griffons are usually quite boring to draw (for me at least). "

I love comparison pictures! I like the simplicity of it with how it has no artistic exaggeration. Nice detail work.

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Thanks! Exaggeration looks cool sometimes, but I’m not master of it. Simplier look usually goes well with my style."
