Once upon a time the merfolk lived in peace under the reign of King Ypsolan. The sea gave them everything they needed, there was no such thing as poverty, for Ypsolan was a wise man. The capital city of his empire had become a labyrinth filled with palaces, one even more beautiful than the other, all filled with beautiful works of art and laughing people. The king had but only one flaw: he was addicted to racing.

Ypsolan had a stable full of the finest race-hippocampi of the world, but he wanted more, he wanted better... One day he and his people were hunting and encountered a lionfish. The king was impressed by it's grace and speed and ordered the animal to be caught alive. As one knows: lionfishes are very poisonous, and one of the hunters lost his live that day, he was the first...

The rest of the story is soon told: the king crossed the lionfish with his best hippocampus mare, but instead of one filly she had ten, and died delivering them. The young breed, who were named hicalifi, grew very fast and were poisonous from the day they were born. I could tell you about the first stableboy that died, or the day they laid hands on our noble king, but I don't have that much time. I'm the last of my people now, the hicalifi live in our citys, dwell through our palaces... I write this, hidden in a cave somewhere so that maybe someday, people will know, and won't make the same mistake as we di...

This is amazing the way you have mixed a horse with a lionfish, it just makes you see how you can play around with two animals and come up with something so good1:
