Lena V. Bazhenova

I'm really not good at talking about myself. To make a long story short, I was born in Ukraine and moved over to the US six years ago. Currently I'm 17 and a freshman in college. I've been dabbling with digital art since early 2007, and still have an extremely long way to go :)

If you want to know more, just take a look at my paintings. I daresay they'll tell you plenty about me :) Or simply ask if there's anything specific you'd like to know :)

I haven’t drawn like this in a very long time, so I’m a little out of practice. I am interested in improving my skills which is why I’m here. As far as anatomy;it’s a little odd. I know where everything goes, but I need to know more about what lays underneath. Trying to find sources that cover all that I need to learn, but don’t get too technical /medical has been challenging. If you have any suggestions, that would be fabulous! You have wonderful expressions and figures in your gallery,beautiful work definitely. The colours are and I love the way you do hair! I admire people that have a realistic style; I realise that I need to find my style and voice. I am inspired by some sources, but I don’t want to copy. He was a very well-known illustrator around the 80’s, and he’s written several how-to books. He has one on how to draw the face and hands where he talks about anatomical structure (bones&muscles), and it’s easy to understand. Some books do use a lot of technical terms, but his stuff is great.
