His gaze is mesmerising.
Funny, isn’t it, how the mythology of the phoenix really doesn’t crop up all that often in books, films, TV, comics etc. Immortal and invincible characters are ten a penny, but characters who have the ability to be reborn, phoenix-style, are so rare that the first thing I thought of when I read your description was "Doctor Who" - and then I couldn’t think of any other examples.
It’s a fascinating concept - somebody who is immortal and mortal at the same time; who is always the same, but always changing; who keeps dying but can never die - it’s worthy of more stories.

"His boredom with the world has led to several ’experiments,’ as good, and as terrible as his capacity is for either." That line, made me love him.
This image brings so many of my favourite things together that I can’t stop staring at it. On top of it’s been amazingly done.

Oh my god, this.is.so.good! It literally took my breath away. I definitely think it looks like a woman, so I’m a bit disappointed that it’s a man (just because I immediately thought of a background story about a strong woman) but it’s the most beautiful and captivating piece, I can’t stop looking at it.
