A portrait for a friend of an unseelie noble :-) She is a wicked, uppity fairy from one of our various storylines. I usually depict fairies by placing floating symbols above their heads, but I thought it might ruin the composition here. The rainbow bird I thought for awhile was some sort of fairy phoenix hatchling, but that's a bit too ostentatious even for me HA! So it just became some sort of very sentient, sly little fairy bird.  I spend such a long time on paintings that I have to tell myself little stories about the characters as I'm doing them ;-)
