I wanted to revisit an old character, and do an armour study (being inspired by a lot of warhammer concept art I have been looking at lately).

 

Mael is a dark paladin, serving the death gods. He is witch, priest, and warrior, and spends most of his time doing the bidding of some evil or another.  Inspite of his occupation, he's quite temperate and abides by his own integrity. The bird-familliar there isnt a crow or a hawk or even a bird. It is just a combination of whatever features it deems to be threatening.

This is the warrior of all my fantasies. Actually, always when I start to write a story, the "hero of the day" looks like him. Pretty awesome! <3

An amazing piece the clouds and landscape come away as mirrored echoes of the being inside the armor. As though as he is dark so shall the world be as well. Love your style here and the armor is it’s own unique structure which i feel stands out far better than simple warhammer armor. all in all an enjoyable piece of quality illustration.
