I am working on a fantastical series of angels at the moment in my own time that aren't meant to be religious, but almost comic style pieces. The armour and characters in general are over the top and very fun to design. For this one, I wanted to go with wing shapes and put six to eight on them since I think traditionally, archangels have many wings. Initially I was going to go for a rooster armour design and wing style, but it got a bit toooo colourful for my colourful liking. This is also a tribute to my brother, Michael, who has always been my angel and there for me (and also posed as the reference for this person!)

I really like how you incorporated those wings into the armour design. First time I see that, and beautifully done with the layers. Nice realistic job on his real wings too, it frames the image nicely. His pose is nice I find for the character, it makes him seem very powerful. And I like the black circle on his sword- does it represent anything in the story? Very cool. : )

This is amazing work - great composition and style - managed to achieve a lot of depth with the wings behind him - so many times they read flat, but not here.

I marvel at the elegance you have granted this image. honestly your best work i think. the winglets in the armor are inspired and the pose is striking. very amazing.
