No it isn't water, it's tendrils of the beasts etheral form, spreading forth to sustain the creatures negative energy. (i'm learning bullshitsue from the best ) I guess this one was partially inspired from "the mummy""

7 Oct 2005	@\- - - rose butterfly }:\|:{	Loading... Banshee... Yes this one is purely the artist's own creation. A Banshee looks no different from you or I. A Banshee is from the Irish folklore. When it is your time to leave the earth you clan's Banshee will cry warning. Just a lil back ground info on what banshees are. I like the bottom half of the picture more so than the top half. The upper half is way darker than the bottom half and makes it look like 2 different pencils were used. Make the head a lil lighter and i think you got it.

Seems like he's in grief or terrible agony... or just trying to scare some art fanatic like me. Just wondering, what made you draw it?
