The helmet bird has beautiful plumage, but its steel weapons make it advisable to avoid.

I wanted to experiment drawing a bird with no wing feathers, to try and learn how the bones work. And I gave it lots of claws. I tried to bring out the more dinosaur-y side of the bird. Pencil and gel pen, early 2006.
