This druidess has performed a rite so that she can see into the other worlds, the past and the future. She has, of course become blind in the present physical world. She was born on the correct day in the moon cycle at solstice, so she has been taught since childhood how to deal with such a huge amount of information almost from birth, or she would go mad - but noone is entirely sure until they try. With luck she will be useful and help her people, but one who is a little unhinged with such terrible power can wreak terror, judgement and death upon the mighty and the weak. All she need do is say that 'if you do not kill this person, he will kill you.' Or similar. Her only weakness is her malachite stone, without it she loses her power and becomes as blind as any other girl. Not all people with her gift have malacite of cause, it depends upon their nature and the colour of their eye. Jasper, jet, amber, heamatite, amythest, tiger's eye, bloodstone, howlite, moonstone, serpentine, carmelion, all kinds of quartz and agate. It is wise to keep your stone in your pockets, shoes, sewn into your clothing, inlaid in anything you can get your hands on, just in case. Few actually learn to cope with blindness, but watch themselves a few seconds into the future, and are crippled when forced blind.

This picture took me around ten hours of digging. I spent about two hours sketching her out (with reference!!! REFERENCE! And it shows!) and the rest painting. She is oils on A3 watercolour paper!
