A simple oil-pastel sketch - I was surprised and pleased by the way pale yellow faded to dark blue on the original, with hardly a suggestion of green stripe. Ah well. I am umming and ahing over doing a big, A1 oil painting of this fella, mainly to get detailed feet in, but I haven't got round to it yet. He glows. And has small wings - he's a phoenix, they float rather than fly. I don't know why I decided that now, but at the time, it was sensible. Ah well...

Very nice job coloring.

I bough some oil pastels, but having no experience Im rubbish with them.

:-) Emma G. Absolon replies: "A moistake most people make is to put them on lightly, as you would pencil. The trick with oil pastels is to try and rub them through the paper, exxagerate all the colours and be as bold as possible. They're probably my favourite medium, although it really depends on my mood."
