"Tree Babies - Colour" by Emma G. Absolon

A colour version of my little suicides... Diminished by despair, foetal souls trapped in the aged tree they hung themselves on, waiting, hoping, praying for release when it falls, and a figure filled with life contemplating death, little knowing their fate if they choose the tree to commit suicide.

My first and rather scrappy attempt at acrylics. I spent six hours painting, listening to Pink Floyd, in an insanely good mood for some reason. The result is blobby, blurry, has an odd background because the acrylics wouldn't thin, and I eventually attacked it with watercolours, cramped by the paper, and I'm very pleased with it. See if you can spot all eight 'babies'.
