Not much of a title, but then it's not much of a picture. Just some more marker practice that turned out nicely. This type of griffin is becoming a rare sight in fantasy art . . . would anyone care to contribute to the SPHG (Society to Prevent the Homogenization of Griffins)?

ya know if you were going to do a lion-bird mix it would make more sense to put the lion as a head. Bird brain versus the focused mind of a predator. Well I guess birds can be predators too but bird brain seems to stick better than lion brain. I had this idea as well but it seems that you beat me to it. Gosh I hate it when that happens. Beautiful work. I cant wait to see the rest of your beautiful gallery. keep up the good work.

Not exactly a griffin, is it? o.O Some other form of chimera, I'm sure, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am. 12

Actually, it looks exactly like the griffon described in the folktale "The Griffon and the Minor Canon." Well done. Not quite exactly: the griffin in Frank Stockton's tale (which every griffin fancier should read; it's available online in several versions, so remember that Google is your friend) didn't have hind legs like this griffin does. But I was thinking of "The Griffin and the Minor Canon" when I drew it. Well-spotted on the reference.

wow, i totaly didnt notice that you had reversed the halves....Im looking at it and going "I can see that there is soemthing different, but im not sure what is different enough to prompt the comment, though it is a nice female lion head"

aaehhm...yes, I like her, her expression is so serious.

MARKERS?! Holy guacamole! I'm getting the Crayolas! Man, MY marker stuff is just opaque! No texture at all! Man, this is AWESOME!

This resembles more a cross between a manticore and a gryphon, but it is nevertheless lovely!
