I haven't done any unicorns in a while, so here's one based on the greater kudu, a large and striking southern-African antelope. And before I hear a 'that's not a unicorn!' outcry, let's run down the checklist: long singular horn, cloven hooves, a mane, a tufted lion-like tail . . . yup. He's got all the essentials; everything else is fair game.

I agree with the anonymus person. It really is a mistake that people made unicorns look like horses. A sad mistake, really. Unicorns are really described as having the hind legs of an antelope, the tail of a lion, and the beard of a goat. I actually prefer that description as opposed to a white horse with a horn. Even though that would be a very pretty horse. I am awed by your picture Erin, if you don't mind. Hows that for a class lecture? *can't wait to see more!*

This picture proves that it is possible to be wildly imaginative while still following guidelines.

You're so creative. I'm jealous.

I agree with Vengeful_Pianist, Kudu Biltong is indeed one of the best around although springbok is pretty good too. I din't even know anyone outside of South Africa knew about the Kudu! Wonderfull work Erin, I really like it alot. You should do more art based on African animals, its quite refreshing to see something other than the ordinary on the 'woods!

You know what I kind of think of when I see this. And I know this is completely different.

It kind of reminds me of a Kirin. I like it though.

Heck, I just love your gallery. Do you have a DA page at all?

*Examines the animal closely.* Yes, yes, this is indeed a unicorn. Uni meaning one and corn meaning horn, this animal does have only one horn and therefore is, in fact, a unicorn, and a refreshingly creative one, at that!
