  | Most fans of fantasy are well aware of the story of Mordred, the usurper who betrayed King Arthur and brought about the downfall of Camelot. In the fiction of a project I'm working on, Mordred was the son of Arthur's younger sister, Morgaese. After his mother's death he was raised by Morgana le Fay, growing corrupted by the dark magic of the evil faerie folk his adopted mother consorted with. Following his climactic battle with Arthur, Mordred's body was never found on the battlefield, leading many to speculate that the great deceiver may have survived the melee... |
