Because you've found out the story in "Balius Weeping" I thought I woul d explain more here. Balius and Xanthus are the sons of Zephyros and Pordarge, with Balius meaning dapples and Xanthus meaning golden. Xanthus was temporarily allowed to talk about who killed Patroclus before he was struck dumb by the Furies.
