| 17 Jan 2005 | Ariella M. Phillips | Loading...oooooooo! I love that background! I have done like, zip on watercolors, this is great. How did you get that effect? Erica Vermette replies: "I used tube watercolors and applied the paint directly to the paper. Then I swirled them all with a large brush, using lots of water. When it was just barely starting to dry I sprinkled a good amount of salt on it. Then I dried the whole thing thoroughly with a hairdryer, and brushed off the salt. Voila! It's a messy process though, and seems to attract lots of ants...Thanks for stopping by! " | |

| 11 Jun 2005 | Chessie Alberti | Loading...BEAUTIFUL!! The background is *gorgeous*, and that girl is so haunting.. I like her position very much, and her expression, too. All the elements in this picture just fit together and work perfectly. Erica Vermette replies: "You don't know how delighted I am at your comment! "Haunting" is exactly the quality I want to portray in her character. Thank you so much, Chessie! May the muses be with you!" | |
| 6 Jul 2005 | Tiffany Munro | Loading...Oh, the background is so sw33t... just one of those completely abstract-types that actually turned out. Generally I like detail (though I don't draw it much myself) but the way you managed this was very cool. Watercolor has to be my favorite medium... Her expression is... intense, in a manner. She's lost something, someone... and knows looking back won't help... Ah, the plot bunnies. I love her expression... Erica Vermette replies: "Wow...Your assesment is very close to her actual storyline, I'm so glad that something of her history came through in her portrait! Thank you so much for your lovely comments." | |
