I'm not sure why I love mixing sunsets and silhouettes so much, but it seems to be my instinct whenever I do a landscape. This picture is the result of the fact that I haven't had access to a scanner for weeks, so I've been teaching myself how to use photoshop instead. One manual and many tutorials later, I came up with this. Just a fairy overlooking the sea at sunset. Is she looking at the water? The distant mountains? The crescent planets? The story is up to you.

How often do you check the comments on your pictures?

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "Actually, I have it set up so that I get an email from Elfwood every time I get comments...saves the hassle of having to check myself ;o)"

You must be sick of it by now - but yes, I love the water! 1 I really like the sunset as well and the planets or moons. It looks so other worldly it was funny seeing the fairy sitting there (I mean other worldly as in sf) but nice. Keep up the excellent work with photo shop

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "I'll never get sick of compliments! yeah I like blurring the boundary between fantasy and sci-fi...glad you like the result of it! Thank you very much 19)"

With the two moons in the sky this one looks like a sci-fi fantasy combo. Could it be that this is the Home World of the Fairies and they came to Earth to escape some kind of disaster long long ago? Just offering a little story idea since I'm a sci-fi writer as well as an artist.

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "Well you're welcome to use the story idea if you like, I have a wyvern's account too but that's probably not the sort of story I'd really write 19) Cool idea though!"

OMG.. i been looking for pictures to blow up to hang on my and with no success. but this... this is perfect!!!
the 1st 2 things that caught my eyes were the water and the moons/planets. the water looks like liquid silver, my fav type of metal, and the moons are awesome. i read on how you did the water and im going to have to get photoshop, i a artist looking at setting up my own website/link. may i print this to hang it on my wall?

2 Erin N. Conley replies: "Sure, if you want to make a poster of this for yourself go ahead, just don't go distributing them ;o) I don't know how well it will blow up, but you're welcome to try! Good luck with your own water attemtps, even when you know how to do it you often have to try several times before it comes out just right 19) Thanks!"

I like this - i've always been amazed by two moons or huge planets n stuff on the sky. And the mountainside looks very, hm, freedom-seeking kind of type...2!

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "Yeah, I think multiple moons and planets add to the "otherworldly" sense...and besides that, they're fun to make in photoshop! Thanks 19)"

So peaceful, want to stay...... Such a lovely picture. I like the sky, the fairy, the water, well just about all of it ^.^

11 Erin N. Conley replies: "Thanks! I figured there was enough battle scenes around, figured it was about time for something more peaceful 19)"

Had to make a comment about this one. Must be your best piece. I like any pic that has a siluett and at the same time brings so much color into it. Nice work.

So lovely, wishing I could be there... but then I can be, for you left the fairy maiden’s identity secret, so anyone could be her... even myself!
