Erin has great ideas, just never manages to get them down on paper...

I always wanted to be a writer. It wasn't until a year ago that I suddenly switched to art out of the blue. I still like writing stuff though, just for fun. Here's a guide to what I have written so far:

Humanwood (series): Wil, and aspiring young elfish artist, has his life turned upside-down when a human, long thought to be mythical, turns up in his bedroom. Now he must help the human get back to his strange fantasy world, while continuing his work in the Humanwood Fantasy Art Gallery. (Only two chapters of this so far--stay tuned for the third, which will be the best in my opinion.)

The Three Physically Diminutive Pigs (short story):Another somewhat modernized retelling of the Three Little Pigs (as if we needed another one)

Riding Hood (series):An in-depth retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood (Chapter one deals with the history of the big bad wolf.)

The Weird, the Strange, the Unnatural (short story): Welcome to a realm where the tourists have blue hair and dragons are a common sight, where one man must gather his allies for the biggest gang rumble of all time--or lose his money, and his life. (A Robert Asprin-esque short story full of bad jokes)

Feel welcome to also check out my FANTASY ART gallery!

UPDATE: (7/11/04) Just added the next two chapters of the Humanwood series!

Hi, I thought I'd just say I love your take on the three pigs, very funny, keep it up very good!

great stories! the take on the three pigs was creative, and funny! hate to be echoing the first commenter, but keep up the good work.

*grin* and thanks for commenting on my art.

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "Thank ya! 19) That seems to be becoming a favorite ;o) Thanks for stopping by, and I'll try! Oh yeah, and you're welcome, too ;o)"

You're work is great, especially the Humanwood piece... no wonder it got a mods choice award! It's a great concept and nicely put together. Your designs skills are pretty good too, (I had a sneak peek of your Loth gallery) but you're right... Graphic Design really doesn't have a lot of drawing in it. I know, I've just done a year of it. Good Luck!

2 Erin N. Conley replies: "Wow, thanks for taking the time to read, most people aren't patient enough ;o) I really need to get back to work on the Humanwood story, the upcoming chapter is going to be the best one I think...and thanks for taking the time to look at my art, too! yeah graphic design isn't a whole lot of straightforward drawing, but I am finding I'm quite liking the stuff we are doing, so I guess that's okay...anyway, thanks very much! 19)"

=smacks forehead=I did have a very well planned comment that I was going to put full of impressive big words and all but suddenly I can't remember it(This with my last comment must make me sound senile or something.XD...Hey,why aren't there any really old people on Elfwood?)so I'll just have to put the over-done 'Good job' sort of comment.I liked all your stories.I liked the Humanwood one best but I already left a long comment there.^.^You must write more...NOW!!! 2

1 Erin N. Conley replies: "Hey, if you used too many big words I wouldn't understand it anyway ;o) Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment! Twice! As for writing more, I've actually got the second and third chapters of Humanwood in progress...but I've reached a blockage point because the next part's supposed to be so good, I'm afraid of screwing it up! ;o) but I'll try to get right on it! 19)"

I wouldn't worry about those ignorant oafs...they're just flamers, doing what flamers do best--wasting away their precious free time by wandering around and criticizing people they think they're better than to give themselves an emotional high...in fact I'll bet you anything every rude commentor you've gotten is in the 12-14 years old range...they're the only ones immature enough to act like that (no offense to the people that age who aren't like that)...Don't worry, they'll grow out of it, and hopefully look back and laugh at how stupid they once acted...I mean heck, even I was like that at that age...

Anyway...I won't lie to you, your art isn't QUITE The best I've seen on Elfwood...but I also won't lie to you, your art isn't the WORST I've seen at Elfwood either ;o) I actually kinda liked your mistress one, you draw very cute eyes...and I like how you use bright colors...all you need to do is practice lots...and everything else will come naturally 19) I'd suggest doing like a more tactful anonymous person said and drawing from life or pictures, or even what can really be useful is drawing from someone else's art (not to post of course, but just to practice)...and oh yeah...I DO have a bit of a pet peeve with people who just draw a bunch of people with their hands behind their backs ;o) Like I've told other people....I'd rather see badly drawn hands than see every character standing in the same pose ;o) Good luck, and you can at least pride yourself that you act your age, unlike the commentors you seem to have attracted ;o)

16 Erin N. Conley replies: "Eh...copying and pasting people's comments back on their own galleries, that's a new one....that's even a comment I left ages and ages ago on a picture I don't even remember....oh well, if you have nothing better to do with your free time, carry on!"

'Ello! I found you, so I'm going to comment!

I did a search on the Elfwood/Google for 'Little Red Riding Hood' and discovered that, out of ten pages full of links, there were only about five or six Riding Hood links that weren't art! So I found you in there.

I will go through your whole library today, so just a warning... ;-D

2 Erin N. Conley replies: "Wow, the whole library? Don't think anyone's ever read my whole library before...nor have I read all of anyone else's *grin*...thanks for stopping by, glad you found me! 19) As for my little red riding hood story, I kinda put it on the back burner because I didn't figure anyone was interested, but maybe I'll pick it up again now that I know someone out there has some interest in it ;o)"

I saw an insightful comment you left on someone else's page, and decided to visit. I like to visit good commenters, they usually have good writing, and are more likely to leave me insightful comments. 2
Anyway, I'm very glad I did, I only wish I could be more insightful for you.

12 Erin N. Conley replies: "Insightful? Me? That's gotta be some kind of miracle ;o) But I'm glad you took the time to come pay me a visit! I for one have a limited attention span for reading stories on elfwood, I'm glad I caught your interest ;o) Thanks much!"
