Sirius (of Harry Potter) looking up at the stars. Straight above his head is Sirius, the star for which he was named--of the constellation Canis Major ('The Big Dog'), of course.

The imperfections abound in this picture, but I'm still pretty happy with it. It's the first time I've attempted to color anything remotely realistic in photoshop, without using heavy cartoon outlines or anything. If I had a tablet I'd do things like this more often but drawing with a mouse is like drawing with a potato.

It is as if he's lonely and looking up to the stars for guidance..aww bless it! Great pic ^_^ Erin N. Conley replies: "Yes he does look lonely, poor thing...glad you mentioned the eyes though, I had to try hard to get them to look reflective instead of just transparent...thanks!"

Conley replies: "Yep...it took me a while to be convinced to read the books because I thought they were overhyped...but now I'm a converted fan ;o) Yep I've finished the sixth book, though let's not discuss it for the sake of those who haven't yet ;o) Thanks!"

Conley replies: "Yes...he and his brother were both named after stars, I assume he knew that...but the fact that he was named after a star in Canis Major may have influenced his decision to choose a dog to transform into ) Yes, I miss him muchly...thanks!"
