I sat alone today
for the first time in as long as I can remember
Just lost in my thoughts
and they all circled back to you
Better yet, the you I once thought I knew
Someone I hoped I'd forgot
It's sad to think I don't even know you anymore
the you who once rested in my arms
and told me you loved you more
but you told me so much more with your eyes
that your heart could never explain
and in them I saw the lies
that it tried to hide
Even now the thoughts burn deep inside
of the you I thought I once knew
Talking to you the other day made me see
something that took a year to understand
She's truly gone and all I'm left with is you
and it doesn't seem to matter what I say
or what I do
you're only a sad shell of what used to be you
the you I adored with all my heart
But now when I hear the words that come out of your mouth...
they echo in my mind of better days
and they only made realize something
as I sit alone
just lost in my thoughts...
Truly now...
It can't be,
Why?!
and it all begins to fade away.
the endless summer nights,
the silly nothings,
the things that used to make us smile...
it's all gone,
but this thought lingers on my mind,
I hate you.
