An acrylic painting depicting the greek explination for the change of the seasons. The daughter of Demeter(godess of the harvest) was kidnaped by Hades(god of the underworld). While Persephone was in the underworld Demeter in her grief turned the world to ice. The composition was inspired by Brian Froud.

This is so incredibly beautiful.
I love the faery's wings and hair. There are so many wonderful details and so much depth. It's someow frantic, yet calm. Wonderful piece.

Oh, wow! I love the color choices - marvellous, marvellous mood. I think my favorite part, though, is the figure huddled under Demeter's robes. I love the way the cloth clings to it, defining it.
Wonderful work!

This one is great reminds me of fall and being free and how you what to feel! whatdid u feel why you were drawing this?

:-) Erika Schulz replies: "I went through all emotions on this one. It was what I call my first painting because I was discovering my style at the time. Things would go great and things would go horribly wrong. Plus I was in school at the time so a deadline was hanging over my head."

Wow scary, great picture, good job! I love the myth too, but I always imagined Persephone all good and inosent, but I think being in Hades changed her.

Oh my, this really reminds me of Brian F. works.
Just amazing the difference between both creatures and the presence of death (not always physical). Great job.

Persephone's lamentation at its best.
