This is a coloured pencil drawing. It is inspired by Aztec mythology. Seven Macaw was a god who tryed to take over the universe. He was extreemly vain and was easily overthrown and destroyed because of this. Here, this young woman prepares to bring him back into the world.

I love the picture, but how did she become pregnant with a god? Unless the father is another god...?

:-) Erika Schulz replies: "It is kind of an imaculate conception idea. She was a virgin priestess in Seven Macaws cult and was chosen by the god to be the vessle for his return. He was destroyed by the creator gods so he has not been able to hold a physical form for a long time, but I senced a comeback."

hehe, she looks quite smug that she was chosen. Few things in life are perfect, but her expression & those feathers are!

Wow, we read about that myth in my history class--she really looks Mayan to me, great job! I thought it was One and Seven Hunapa, though? *shrugs* meh, still a lovely picture!

:-) Erika Schulz replies: "Wow! You studied this in school. Im impressed. One Hunapa was the name of the first born hero twin. Seven Macaws mayan name is Vucub Caquix. Don't ask me how to pronounce it. There seems to be a lot of seven somethings in mayan mythology. They must have liked numbers."

Wow she looks very calm given that she's about to give birth to a god. I envy her peace of mind.

She looks bored and not amused with something. Interesting expression for the situation.

its interesting... she looks like she's trying not to be interested in someone's comversation, and they've blocked her out of it, so she just stands on the side going, "oh, well, see if I care, I'm just going to stand here picking my fingernails and I dont give a dam about you." its great

:-) Erika Schulz replies: "WOW! You got it! That is exactly the look I was trying to express. Thanks."

What a beautiful picture! But what do you mean by "Aztec"? (Generally that term isn't used anymore; people are starting to refer to the aztecs as Mexica now)

:-) Erika Schulz replies: "I guess I used Aztec because that is what the Mythology reference book I used, used. Thanks for your comment."
