This piece depicts the Vulture. A sacred bird and royal symbol of the pharohs. It's one half of a dyptic, and yes those are real feathers.

I love the patchwork effect in the background it works beautifully!! The bird is gorgeous and I like the use of real feathers, it just adds a certain something to the piece, can't put my finger on what though?! I really like this more surreal style.

Very cool! I once tried to create an Egyptian falcon in this pose, but I never would have thought of a collage.
