The scan wasn't kind to it. I don't know why sometimes the scanner makes things look so grainy. It seems to pick up and then magnify the almost non-existent texture of the paper in this one. Annoying.

Anyway. This one was done for The Herscher Project, project 28, Fear's Playground. It was based off a nightmare I had a few a years ago. Basically I have this slight fear of drowning...and I had this dream that this rather malevolent nixie was terrorizing this small town near the sea and killing off men and boys. It was a vastly creepy dream that I can still remember quite vividly.

Anyway, the dream began with her drowning a boy who had been out surfing...so...yeah. We get this.

Its darkishly nice. i love the way she has her head on his cheast. he is drowning and hs eis half gald that he is dying, but half not gald and that she w<nts to let him go. xD my lovely idea of it =) Lisa Eshkenazi replies: "Thank you. I was going for a contrast between her action (killing him) and her posture (which is sort of a loving embrace). I think it adds a sort of creepy element that would have been lacking if she was just pulling him down..."

Lisa Eshkenazi replies: "You should do yours anyway! I agree about the red head part. I mean...I guess there’s a chance that some nicer mermaid might come and save him still...."

Anyway, I really like this , but I hate getting creepy dreams... like just last night I had some weird flower-volcano growing on my head... EW Lisa Eshkenazi replies: "Flower volcano? That sounds like it might be a dangerous thing to have growing out of your scalp...:\"

Marbach	Loading... wow, you’ve done a great job in putting down your dream - i can somehow feel how creepy it must have been... she is indeed a creepy mermaid, specially her tail got it to me. very well done! and i don’t feel the scanner did any bad to it - it looks great! Lisa Eshkenazi replies: "Thanks. It really was a creepy dream. So much so that I was actually unable to finish the story I’d thought about writing for it. >.<"
28 May 2009	Allison L. Miller	Loading... Of your works that I’ve viewed so far I would have to say that this one is my favorite. Its so creepy, what with all of the skulls and bones at the bottom, and also how it seems like she’s lovingly cradling him to his death. Very awsome work!
