Another character from the invader sun storyline (see Tulip) His name is Scrif. I wanted this piece to reference the gradual and catastrophic climate changes his clan had to survive. Strong Froud influences here. The box in a box scheme evolved from the Sombra experiment.

This is daunting to comment on precisely because it is so nicely done. You have captured light, shadow, and color nearly perfectly. What a mischievous expression you have given him! I really like the "nested" picture, with the coolness on the outside, warmth on the inside. Very effective. Really, this is beautiful, right up there with Froud. He should be proud to take you on as a collaborator. Seriously.

*Climate change...Makes me think of my physical science ice age earth class!

well, you have I think reached or surpassed Brian Froud with this piece. He is very wonderful, and I like the layout and the frame thingie. VERY PERDY Scrif ::gives him flowers:: I love the eyes. Your ideas on your whole site are really cool I likes em much. Would you honor me by checking out my gallery, and leaving a comment or 2 if you feel so moved. 10

That box of colour thing is very clever!!! I think I may try it too. This is a beautiful piece. I love the foliage and the very clever use of colour on the skin tones..

Are you sure you're not Brian Froud working under a pseudonim?

I like to work with the "box-in-a-box" concept too. It's great to see your perception of it. I think the black, slit eyes make it Froudian more than anything else.
