This piece evolved from a character concept  inspired by a member of an old rap group from the 80s. This is where it ended up. The shiny surfaces and skin tones were a challenging.

Lovely work! The colouring is great all over, especially her skin and the surface she is standing on. The text and number on the metal is a nice detail; gives the impression that the material has been reused to build this construction.

That platform is intense. You know how to simulate metal so well. Is there some sort of reference you use?

:-) Eugene Randolph Young replies: "I went with my gut on this one, but I do spend a lot of time drawing from life and paying attention to surfaces. I might have checked a metal spoon a few times."
