I have some sugestions though. First of all, you need much work with hands, I'd love to sit down and show you, but one, I'm only just learning how to draw them, and two, I can't! what I'll suggest is getting a book of anatomy for artists, this is the best one ever "Drawing the Human Body: An Anatomical Guide by Giovanni Civardi" I would really recommend getting this (it can run from 10-20 bucks), it will help with drawing peopleish creatures A LOT!!! Also, shading, try to do more of it, but please pleeeaaase stay away from "smearing" as in taking your finger and rubbing the pencil marks. It just ends up making things messy (I'm learning better yay!) anyway, I hope so see more of your stuff soon!!

The best way I think is to look at other artist and try to get help from their pictures. I hate to draw hands, so hard. I always end up drawing a big lump and a thumb that sticks out. ^-^
