This just kind of came off the top of my head, and came together amazingly well. But it took FOREVER to CG. I didn't want to ink the original, so i had to painstakingly cut out aaaall the lineart with the lasso tool in Photoshop. Never again.
Something of a quasi-feudal Japan air, with a little touch of mysticism. Something of a goddess-princess. I need help with the background, anybody have a suggestion?

wow, that costume is AMAZING. I love the colors, they give her something fiery but still mystical... very cool

Hi love the picture the folds in the dress are done with suck detail it almost look like a photo. For the background I advise ether a sunset or a night sky with a shining moon. I have a very similar drawing stile to u but I'm not old enough to put it up on Elfwood yet. bye

beautiful work! I don't have any suggestions for the background- rather bad at them myself, but since you're using photoshop, I do have a suggestion on how to make CGing easier. ^_^
Using layers, you can put an outline of your picture on the top, then have layers for everything else underneath, you can use as many layers as you need for this, and not risk screwing up the rest of your picture by going over the lines. By arranging the layers you can get things going from top to bottom. having the outline layer on top ensures that you won't lose your original drawing as you color over it. you can delete the outline layer if you don't think it goes with the picture and just use 'flatten image' once you're done. Having a graphic pad helps with this as well- makes it like you're coloring with a pencil or something (a lot easier than using a mouse in my opinion), you can get a good one for $60 or so, but it also depends on what's available where you are.

Beautiful picture though! I love how flowing her hair is and the colors and shading. Perhaps something bright, but not white as the background so that she's not lost and doesn't look quite so stark against the white. I'm thinking shades of yellow, maybe a starburst of light behind her if you can get that tool to work (I haven't figured out how yet)

wow she's seems like she's holding just a BIT of a grudge with that sword thingy. know idea what feudal might mean but i love the picture

I think u should have her walking through a battle field as if she is laughing at what she caused.

Is she levitating? This could add an interesting aspect to the pic

ok, so this might be totally out there, but what i think of when i look at your magnificent pic, is an elven (or elvin, whatever) princess or something along those lines...You could have an elven city in the background??

Or she could have a mighty dragon friend who is standing protectively over her in all his (or her) armored splendour?

Just some suggestions, but you may not be into that...
