The Dangerous Encounters of Time Travel

The Dangerous Encounters of Time Travel

The year is 1885 and my name is Jack. I’m going to share my adventure with you. I live in South-America surrounded by jungles everywhere. In my village I and the rest of the people in the village live together in harmony. 3 years ago, as I took a walk through a deep jungle that then yet wasn’t explored, I apparently discovered a time machine. At first I had no clue what the machine was, and afterwards I brought my friend, Michael, to come and witness what I discovered. Together we defined it as a time machine, as we noticed buttons that had a number printed on each of them. The buttons said 1885, and somehow we knew that there might be a slight possibility that it was a time machine.

After due consideration I went into what we thought was a time machine, which consisted of an elegant, yellow-brown seat covered with an irregular “roof†of metal and beams. As I positioned myself into the seat, it was automatically activated and the roof that was bent as a half circle began gradually spinning faster and faster. A strong, flashing light appeared from all directions and the machine covered itself with a shield of strong light and continuously changing colors that made the surroundings blurry. My friend was standing at a safe distance and seemed shocked and surprised at what was happening.

As the sound of the machine became louder and louder and the roof spun even faster, I saw the surroundings, including my friend, disappear. I saw the nature, buildings, humans, and animals – everything around me – in a reverse evolution. As the wind easily blows paper away and replace it with something else, the surroundings were continuously replaced with apparently surroundings of the past. I saw the evolution in fast motion as I travelled into the past. After a while there was no sight of humans or human-made things. Nature ruled.

I was shocked and amazed by what I was experiencing, and finally the time machine was about to stop as the sound of the machine was lowered and the spinning roof eventually stopped. When I went out of the time machine and away from the machine, I found myself surrounded by nothing else than nature. In the skyline I noticed a river next to a field, and went for it. The cold, crystal-clear water was very refreshing as I drank it. On my way back, I heard some deep, weird and unknown sounds in the background. A four meter high dinosaur was behind me. The sharp teeth in his enormous mouth, the slimy spit running down his cheek and his long, strong tale made me shudder from the top to the very tip of my toes.

I began running towards the time machine, as the dinosaur kept gaining on me. When I finally reached the time machine, the huge dinosaur was only a few meters away. I went into the time machine and sat down in the seat. After the machine was activated the shimmering light of the time machine dazzled the dinosaur in such a way that it began to scream. The dinosaur seemed very frightened and out of control as he, at a distance, tried to knock away the painful sound and light. After a while it ran away in the other direction. Once again I saw the evolution in fast motion and I knew I was heading back to my time because now I didn’t see the evolution in reverse, as I did before. As I glimpsed the buttons in the time machine they clearly said 1885. The time machine stopped, and I knew I finally was home. My loyal friend was still here lying on the ground, and he told me I had been gone for several hours….

I asked him what he saw. “As a dark mist at the starry sky disappearing from sight, you were gone. I was so frustrated and nonetheless shocked, and I waited here hoping you would come back!†“Can you support me as my witness because I’m thinking of letting the world know about this, and the consequences with it?†He agreed, and we went home to my house, and I told him the whole story from its very beginning.

The effect of what I experienced, made me value the life I lead even more. I let the world know about what happened, and there were few believers. About 5 % of whom I told the story to believed me. Even if they don’t believe me, I’m satisfied because I know what happened and that I told them nothing but the truth! Since I knew the severe consequences of the time machine, I and my friend hid it deep into the jungle, in a yet undiscovered cave.

Nice story, Jan! I am fascinated by time travel, and have always wanted a time machine. Did you know that scientists recently did accelerate a beam of light to faster than light speeds? hich , theoretically, could mean information could be sent back in time. Also it never ceases to amaze me when I look into the night sky that the starlight is actually thousands of years old, and just reaching us now.So it is time traveling in a way, I guess.

Yeah, i totally agree with you! I´ve watched some Discovery/National Geographics documentaries about time travel. It was about a guy who has a dream of making a time machine with light beam, by somehow twisting space! It was really fascinating to watch. Thank you very much for commenting my story - i really appreciate it!

Sincerely, Jan Inge 1
