Emily Faerber

Emily is a writer who intends to some day make it big.

Update schedule:

FictionPress will be updated every Friday.

LiveJournal is updated every day.

6/16/08

I wanted to make a note of my on-going story Shangri-la (which is updated every Friday on FictionPress).

If you feel inclined, you can also read the story at my personal website

But you can't read it here!

"Why not?" you ask.

"Because," I reply, "The Elfwood moderators won't let me post it."

"Why not?" you ask again.

"They don't like the fact that the prologue is in italics - even though the prologue NEEDS to be in italics," I explain. "And apparently it's not 'fantasy' enough. I guess you have to bash the reader over the head with magic right away or something in order for it to be fantasy enough for Elfwood."

"Will you ever update Elfwood again?" you cry.

"Probably not," I answer solemnly. "But I update FictionPress every week. Please visit me there!"

Wait! I forgot to do my Mambos! *Does the "Papa Loves Mambo" and "Hey Mambo" dances!*

Carol! I'm so happy for you! You really deserved being "writer of the day"! (Just to let everyone know, I'm the one who got Carol started seriously on writing...she's the best writer I know, but her editing skills could use some work! Just joking with you Carol!) Hey, I had to get my credit somewhere! Okay, well, don't make me critique anymore, please...unless we're in Advanced Creative Writing together! That'd be awesome!

:-) Emily Faerber replies: "I hate to break this to you, but I actually started writing back in the fifth grade, and I had been working on that story on and off. And stop it with my editing skills, they were only as bad as you're making them out to be more than a year ago. At least I never say "and then," that's just horrid! "

Have I mentioned I hate you?

:-) Emily Faerber replies: "Have I mentioned I love you?"

Again Carol, I'm very bored, it's 12 in the morning, and I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows I'm being sarky when I go and take credit for everything Carol does...I've read through a couple of the things I wrote on her stories and such, and it almost sounds as if I'm serious, which I never am.

*refering to comment made on Jan. 20th* I wasn't meaning the editing skills of your own work Carol dearest! I meant your peer editing skills...I need more input on my work because I'm just not motivated to write...if it were your personal editing skills, well, you saw how much I wrote on Brock's story compared to what I write on yours, didn't you?
Speaking of which..."as for me and my house..." Joshua 24:15...we passed that off in seminary, now whichever of the writers of the Bible wrote that, be it D E P or I (aren't those what they call the four writers of the Old Testament? I don't know...)...had atrocious grammar.

Since you expressed an interest, I thought I'd let you know that "In the Silence" has been posted. It isn't the story I mentioned on my comment on my own page, but it's still new 2 It's...well...pretty depressing, but hopefully I'll have some stuff that's a bit more light-hearted soon.
