  | Done for a contest on dA. Theme was mythology/animals so I picked the jade rabbit... but gave it my own twist. Kind of morbid but... in the chinese legend the jade rabbit is on the moon with Chang'e and this guy who got banished there by the court of Heaven. They told the guy if he could chop down the tree on the moon, he'd be free to go. Except the tree always instantly heals any cuts the guy made so it was impossible. Driven insane by the desire to get free, the rabbit thought that it could free itself by killing those two who were being punished. So she stole the man's ax in the middle of the night and chopped her companion to pieces.
