Okay, boys and girls...this is an example of trying to force a drawing. The last of the Elementals, Statuesques was done hurriedly and without enough respect to the theme I had established. Also, I had the title before I started sketching, always a bad omen for me.

I did an elemental type sorta pic, but I put all four in the same one. It looks like she is a statue almost done being carved

Very cool stone element...but...I have to agree with ya...it's forced and it shows. And you're right: having a title before you have a pic is almost always a bad sign. I think the only real problems are her face, which, if I read this right, just refusd to come out right, and the way her legs joing the stone. When you see her you should instantly think "stone elemental"...intstead, the fisrt thing you think is "who cut off her legs?" I think you should let this one sit awhile, then have another go at it. You're a great artist, and I know how frustraiting it is when a pic simply rejects any and all atempts to fix it. They're stuborn that way, pics are!

Overall the pic is nice, but if you decide to redo it, try a slower transition from the stone base to the human legs. Study some of Michelangelo's 'emerging' statues if you don't understand exactly what I mean 2

this pic reminds me of someone suffering a basilisk's curse and slowly turning to stone.. that was the first impression i got off of it and the face looks like she is crying out for help when it is already a hopeless cause

It may be forced, but you can't see it! It's very good! Greetings from Denmark.

I think you could have just done the figue and left out the base. It still is a very good drawing.
