So every once and a while I sit down and I say to myself 'lets try to paint something.' This was the result of one of those attempts, of course completely digital so it still doesn't mean I'm any good but... its not as bad as the rest of my attempts because I'm showing it to other people.

Her face looks a bit pinched.. but I think it suits her very well. Gives her an extra dash of smuggness. And I love how her eyes look almost like they're glowing. Very cool!

Whew... D'ya know the computer game "Morrowind"? The high elves in that game look exactly like her.
Well... she's ugly, but the painting's good. Love the colours.

Perfectly describes that, clearly, status was of great importance to the elven people, and beauty was show through presence, not physical appearance

Oh my! Someone call the drawing police! She doesn't appear human! *rolleyes* What's that you say? She shouldn't because she isn't human at all? Great. Anyways sarcasm aside, I LOVE this piece, especially the coloring. I save any and every piece of art I can find in which elves are depicted looking other-wordly. Your's is definitely collector-worthy. Great job.

She also remainds me of Morrowinds version of High Elfs. It is a da** terrific game too. :]

You have good technique at digital painting. It's just the subject...if you were aiming for a "beautiful" female elf....this misses the mark. She looks more like an alien from another planet than elf, with her huge head, greenish tinge, and small features. Well, it's all in the eyes of beholder (or artist) i guess.

61 Jonathan R. Brünner replies: "It was, indeed, the point to make this elf look different than the standard portrayal of elves.I was thinking more other-worldy, but alien is close enough... mostly intellectual beings, not so much the type we all see most commonly in various media."
