This is a creation of mine that I made basically just for the fun of playing with light. It is my opinion that the understanding of light is the single greatest asset that anyone can learn if they want to be a realist illustrator. I think that drawing is only a 20% physical process. Truely, you can practice all you want and never get good at drawing unless you hone your observation skills. Now, I don't mean particularly that you draw only from observation, but instead, when you see something, really think about what you're looking at. At one point, when I was in college, I actually stared at a puddle for a few minutes because I was just fascinated with the light that was refracting off of it. Pay attention to shadows on faces, where it falls, how different light divides the face into different forms...

...in any case, in my minds eye this is something like two marines on a space barge without power engaged in a firefight. The man in front is injured and crawling away. No text, no particular meanings, no allusions.
