*slaps forehead* a viking with the horns on the helm... no, they didn't have them!!! argh!! however, i appreciate the artistic value of the picture if not the historical, lol. i like the pose. (sorry, im part scandinavian <-- and i cant even spell it, but i go beserk with the horns thing, nothing personal) i really like the picture tho!! 1

THIS is cool... simple, with a few short, swift, sure strokes - and you have something we call a MOOD! Awesome, the pose, the flying.... things (leaves?), the light/dark contrast. It all adds up to a very powerful piece. I applaud you.

I was also thinking it looks like a little kid. Truth to tell, it looks like my twelve year old brother playing with his toy sheild and sword.

I think i found tha reason why he looks like a kid: His helmet is to big. Although nice shading, his arms are like gorillas, or is it becouse his legs are burried behind the thing in front of his feets? Anyway, good details without to much. Keep up that work. But one thing:
Only becouse viking didn't have horns, doesn't mean you can't draw them! Why does all the bad-guys in medievel histories, evil knights of those always have horns only? Horns mark out vikings better then most other things!

Vikings colonized Iceland, and Iceland had and still has a lot of volcanoes and flaming holes. Cool mood, helmet reminds me of the Rune game.
