She shook him hard to wake him up and he looked down at her with disgust for waking him from such a good dream.

"oh magic 8-ball," she whispered reverently, oblivious to his glare. "will I win the lottery?"

The leopard continued to look daggers at her before rolling back over and closing his eyes.  "Ask me again later." the 8-ball grumbled as he fell back to sleep.

 

Sorry, I have the wierdest thoughts in the middle of the night, for once I actually wrote them down.  The leopard's name is 8-ball, and she's basically makeing fun of his name.

Love that you showed that Black Panthers DO have spots. Never forgot my childhood visit to the Zoo when I discovered that fact. 8-ball is so beautiful. Great eyes. Reminds me of Bagheera from "The Jungle Book".
